 From the very first few chapters, I knew that the story sounded familiar, I just couldn't place where!

After reading a few more chapters it hit me, I saw a movie with this same storyline on Tubi. The movie made me sick and I stopped reading the book at page 156.

Little Stranger by Leigh Rivers

 Holy wow....... I love a good trigger warning content page, and this did not disappoint. Twisted, depraved and some feelings of ick, but such a good story. I love dark and twisted tales and already have others in my library.

 Diving into "White Rural Rage" feels like a journey into the heart of a nation I thought I knew but clearly needed to understand better. Schaller and Waldman skillfully pull back the curtain on the complexities of rural America, a place often oversimplified or misunderstood in mainstream narratives.

What resonated deeply with me was their genuine effort to humanize rural White Americans, a group often reduced to divisive stereotypes in our polarized times. They delve into the paradox of immense pride in country while feeling left behind by its promises—a sentiment that, while challenging, demands our attention and empathy.

While I wholeheartedly appreciate the book's insights, I couldn't help but wish for a deeper dive into actionable solutions. Still, their vision for an inclusive future, where all Americans feel seen and heard, is a much-needed antidote to the divisive politics that have plagued recent years.

In essence, "White Rural Rage" is essential reading for progressives like me. It challenges our assumptions, beckoning us to engage with the complexities of American democracy head-on. Schaller and Waldman's nuanced approach offers both a critique and a path forward, reminding us that understanding is the first step toward unity. 

***SPOILER ALERT***. Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult

 The book delves deeply into how this shocking event impacts the lives of its residents, pushing them to seek justice while grappling with their own involvement in the tragedy. The author skillfully blurs the lines between truth and fiction, right and wrong, creating a vivid and gripping portrayal of a community in chaos.

At the heart of the story is Josie Cormier, the teenage daughter of the judge handling the case. Her struggle with memory loss adds significant emotional depth to the narrative. Josie’s journey is both heart-wrenching and relatable as she battles her inner demons while the town’s collective tension continues to rise.

Friendships that once seemed unbreakable are strained, and families begin to unravel under the weight of suspicion and hidden truths. The novel paints a stark picture of how quickly a tight-knit community can fall apart when faced with a crisis.

The story excels in exploring the complexities of guilt, responsibility, and the human psyche. Each character’s struggle is portrayed with raw emotion, making their experiences feel incredibly real and poignant. However, the narrative does have its flaws. The transitions between characters can sometimes be abrupt, making it occasionally challenging to keep track of the storyline. This can pull the reader out of the immersion and require a bit more effort to stay engaged.

Despite this minor issue, the book’s exploration of raw emotion and thought-provoking themes make it a compelling read. The author’s ability to capture the essence of a community in turmoil and the personal struggles of its residents is commendable. If you’re looking for a story that is both gripping and emotionally intense, this book is definitely worth your time. It offers a deep dive into the impact of violence on a small town and the intricate web of human relationships, making it a powerful and memorable read.

Haunted Love by Sheridan Anne

 Sheridan never fails to impress. From the very first page, this book ensnares you, refusing to let go until the final sentence. It's a rollercoaster ride of emotions and suspense, and I couldn't get enough.

The characters are vibrant, their interactions crackling with energy. The chemistry between them is electric, and the level of intrigue is simply exquisite. As a fan of the brother's best friend trope, I was pleasantly surprised by the darker twist woven into the narrative.

I'm torn between wishing the story would never end and eagerly anticipating Sheridan's next masterpiece. This book is a masterpiece in its own right, and I find myself already planning a reread to savor every moment once again. Truly, an outstanding literary experience that I cannot recommend enough.

Off The Deep End by Lucinda Berry

 Once again, Lucinda Berry captivated me and I was hooked until the end. SO many twists and turns, and the ending was mind blowing. There really isn't an author I enjoy more than her, and I cant wait to dive into the next book on my table. Thank you for giving us such amazing stories to read!!!

Ask For Andrea by Noelle Ilhi

 I have been waiting until I could sit down and really focus on reading this. It finally hit me that I could read it on my kindle! 

Holy cow!!!! What a fantastic thriller! I love reading the characters in the way they are presented, and seeing the story unfold from such an amazing viewpoint. I couldn't put it down. I have added a few more titles to my library!!!
